  • #1

I have two tractor tires with some small dry out swell in the treads and sidewalls. They hold air fine. Has anyone every tried to make full the cracks with some sort of sealer to fill in the cracks. :shrug:These tires expect pretty expert, and I would like to set them upwardly and then paint them with Miller Tire paint. They will make my Cub Buck Original :)look ameliorate with the correct treads information technology came with. If anyone has any ideas or suggestions on how this might be done, I would sure appreciate it.:D

Never tried to fill the cracks only had a Farmall H that I used alot of Tire Shine on over the form of a calendar month or so that brought new life to the old tires and at xv anxiety they looked very precipitous. For what tires price--I'd try the Tire Polish stuff if they hold air expert!

A annotation of circumspection here - The fact that the tire has cracks ways that thr rubber has degraded. The only thing keeping the air in the tire may be the tube and the thread (probably Nylon) in the tire torso. As you lot bulldoze the hard prophylactic will eventually cut thru the Nylon, possibly leading to catastrophic failure (tire goes Blast). The repair suggested here so far is purely an asthetic 1 - information technology will make the tire expect skillful, but will do goose egg for the damaged construction of the tire itself. I would use those tires for ship only. They should non be worked (as in ploughing or towing).

Thanks everyone!:) I will only be using the tractor for shows and an occassional mowing of my small-scale thousand to go along everything working skilful. Tires won't be used difficult and tractor will be on blocks to keep weight off tires during winter.

sdowney looks like it will work, if you encounter the movie the worlds fastest indian he used shoe polish :) my father and me have used quondam tires on our equipment for years. about if using tubes will last a lot longer than yous think. he bought an old cub cadet a 61 the tires were actually rough i said become new ones but he said expect they lasted about 5 years of using before finally tearing upwards. likewise he bought a an old case tractor with turf tires back in the mid 80s we bought some tractor tread ones for information technology which were "rotten" then, one had a bad cut on one side., we simply used it two or 3 times a year but they are still holding up fine.
